Machu Picchu a spiritual place

Marked this off my life to do list in 2016 and so very glad I did. We hiked for a few hours, mostly up rock paths that seemed to be made by people with the ability to take giant steps. I kept asking our guide how tall were these people, he would smile and say very short. The hike was worth every step to have this view of the amazing Machu Picchu. It was a spiritual place for the Inca's and after being there I can see why. There was something about standing there in the mountains and with the clouds rolling in that made you realize there is something bigger than us. We were lucky to have a great sunny afternoon with great visibility for our hike as the group that went back up the next morning at 6 AM found rain and clouds with little to no visibility. That is the thing with travel you take the day you are given and enjoy it. I did by sleeping in the next morning and then grabbing coffee at a local café to stay out of the rain and enjoy the hustle and bustle of the little village. I was one of three that was nice and dry on our two hour train ride back down to Cusco, Peru.
