Today marks one week of retirement, I've had a lot of people email, message and text me asking me if it feels real and how the travel planning is going. Well I have been at my brother and sister in laws all week which is the home I grew up in. They have remodeled but the memories of my childhood are strong here. The land has changed a bit with ponds being filled and gardens being shortened but this is the land I was born and raised on. Some may not know that I was born at home in what we now call the little house not in a hospital.
I have had time to repack all my stuff which is interesting choosing what you think you will need for a year that fits into your car. Have been able to see all my siblings although some briefly, rest a bit and do a little fishing. Today I finalize the packing and will head over to my sister and brother in laws house on Lake Eufaula. This is the lake we grew up swimming and fishing in as it is only about 20 minutes from Hoyt.
As far as travel plans, everything is booked except for one trip and that will be complete as soon as my nephew and I have a chance to speak. Also have a lot of visa work to complete for the 80 day cruise but can not start the process until July. So the planning part is 90% complete and now I can just enjoy the adventures.
As far as does it feel real yet, I think it does as I think you know when a new chapter needs to start and I am a week into mine!
