So two months ago yesterday I retired and started my twelve month journey of travel. I have been ask several times if I regretted the decision to retire, my response is I only wish I had done it sooner. I have been amazed at the quality of my life and the quality of my time I now give family and friends. I am fully rested and present in the moment.
I have enjoyed new adventures like staying in a yurt up in the trees and on a houseboat where the river meets the gulf. Of course adventures that I have done several times but will always say yes to like air boat rides, fishing, touring lighthouses and spending as much time as possible with my toes in the sand.
I tackled booking the excursions for my upcoming 80 day cruise that leaves in October. It was a little overwhelming with the amount of choices, so it feels good to have that done. Since I have already been to Sydney I did run into an issue with the excursions for those two days as I have already done all of those so I will be adventurious and find some new options.
Wrapping up my time in NWA this weekend after we celebrate a dear friends birthday and then head to Oklahoma for a brief visit to see my great nephew who just returned home from the army, I am very proud of him. My new home base as of next week will be North Carolina for the remainder of the year. I will arrive in time to have a few days to unpack and then prepare for my trip to Italy that will bring me back to the states on July 2nd.
I am so blessed that my family and friends have been so supportive of this journey!
