New Home Base... North Carolina

Got to do some fun and important things my last week in Oklahoma. Most important I got to see my great nephew Conner. I am very proud of this young man and the choice he made to serve and protect this country by enlisting in the Army Reserves. He is finished with his training and home which thrills all of us.

I have lived in Oklahoma the majority of my life and like so many there are sites that I have never visited due to all the hustle of life. So since I was back in God's country to see my great nephew I decided to go see Tuner Falls and tour the Arbuckle Wilderness with a stop to tour downtown Ada on the way. There are some great stores in downtown Ada and they have plans to continue to grow, recommend as part of a day trip. Tuner Falls is a really nice area and I want to return in the fall to do some hiking. Arbuckle Wilderness did not wow my sister and I. It was kind of sad to be honest, I would not recommend.

I arrived in North Carolina on Thursday which is my new home base for the remainder of the year. It felt great to finally unload the car and start packing for Italy. There are a few things that I have not enjoyed on this adventure of 12 months of travel, not being in my own bed when I am not feeling well, living out of my car and not being able to easily get to my stuff. All in all though it has worked out pretty well and I am getting better about finding my stuff.

So today my car is getting some TLC as we have been on the road a lot in the last few months. She will get a rest while I am out of the country for 18 days and then we start our next road trip up to New York.

Loving Life!!!
