Good Morning from Ithaca, NY, I am currently staying at the William Henry Miller Inn which has been converted to a B&B. I am in the carriage house which is very relaxing for me after being in Italy for 18 days in tiny rooms this feels amazing to be pampered. The bed is perfect and everything has been well planned out to make you feel warm and cozy. They put out home made desserts at 7:30 PM each night for the guest, let's just say oh have mercy...
There are 50 restaurants within walking distance of the B&B along with some hiking trails near by. We had dinner last night at Just A Taste Wine & Tapas Bar, the food was really good and they offer flights of wine so you can do a wine tasting. I loved the wine bar with it's dispensers, I am thinking I need that in my next house...just sayin!
Each of the finger lakes has numerous wineries so you could easily spend a week or more here. We are doing only a few days but have it maxed out to hit as many of the wineries as we can along with some of the local culture. The feel of Ithaca down on the main street last night was very granola eating, sandal wearing and some tree hugging type of people. Some were definitely beating to their own drum that only they could hear. We did get to watch a group learn to do the hokey pokey while Irish music played from a live band, the band was really good.
Here's to loving life, spending time with dear friends and discovering new favorite wines!
